National education policy 2020, issues and challenges

Abstract: The Government of India announced a new national education policy in 2020, after 34 years of the 1986 education policy. A wide range of revisions and redemptions related to regulation and governance, suitable to aspirations of the 21st century, has been included in this policy compared to earlier policies. This education policy is based on the larger aspiration and suggestions from more than two lacs of people throughout the country. Various challenges related to the implementation of the policy have been discussed in this article especially related to pre-primary education, teachers’ training, medium of instruction, issues relates to skill development, vocational education, and higher education.
