A review of relationship between school social climate and mental well-being of adolescents

Abstract: Promoting the well being of adolescents is a very crucial matter to concentrate on. These days our youths are facing so many mental challenges in their life. There is a great need to discuss the well-being of adolescents for the overall development as an individual. School is the place where students spend their precious time in learning, gaining knowledge, learning life skills and socialization. School has the responsibility to make the young so much capable that they can face the challenges and situations coming to them. School social climate has an impact on the well being of adolescents. The environment of any school can support the adolescents to nourish and flourish and become successful in every area of life. Research has Stop adaptive psychosocial adjustment satisfaction with school, sense of belongingness, motivation to learn, decreased behavioral problems and overall positive health and well being. School serves as an important role for the development of a child. It serves as a socializing agents where adolescents form friendships,develop social skills and navigate interpersonal dynamics. There is a profound impact of school social climate on the well being of adolescents. A positive school social climate can help to improve the mental health of adolescents whereas a negative social school climate can deteriorate the mental health of adolescents.
