A study of personality characteristics of in-service B.Ed pupil teachers of Kashmir division in relation to gender

Abstract: The study was conducted to assess and compare the personality characteristics among in-service male and in-service female B.Ed pupil teachers of Kashmir division. The sample for the study consisted of N=200 B.Ed pupil teachers (100 male in-service teachers and 100 female in-service teachers) enrolled in various teacher education institutions of Kashmir division was selected based on random sampling technique. The investigator used the Big Five inventory of John, O. P., & Srivastava. The scale consisted of five factors viz extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and Openness. The data collected was subjected to various statistical techniques like descriptive statistics, mean, standard deviation and t-test. The results of the study reveal that there is a significant difference among in-service male and in-service female B.Ed pupil teachers on various dimensions of personality.
